Dr. Sebastien Goeb (Group Leader)

CNRS Researcher (Chargé de Recherche CNRS, HDR)

Sebastien Goeb obtained his PhD degree in Organic Chemistry in 2006 under the supervision of Drs Raymond Ziessel and Antoinette De Nicola. He then carried out two successive one year postdoctoral stays respectively with Prof. Felix N. Castellano at the University of Bowling Green (USA) and with Dr Jean-Luc Parrain at the Institut des Sciences Moléculaires de Marseille (France). He became Chargé de Recherche CNRS in the laboratory MOLTECH-Anjou in 2008. His research activity focused on the design of stimulable molecular architectures built by coordination self-assembly. In particular, he designs redox stimulable molecular hosts capable of modulating their complexation properties, and interlocked supramolecular cages bearing donor and acceptor units.

Dr. David Canevet

Associate Professor (Maître de Conférences, HDR)

David Canevet obtained a PhD from the University of Angers in January 2010 (Dir. Pr Marc Sallé) and his habilitation in 2018. During his PhD, his research activities focused on multifunctional architectures to elaborate molecular logic gates, as well as tetrathiafulvalene-based gelators as precursors for nanostructured conducting materials. In March 2010, he joined Dr Emilio Pérez and Pr Nazario Martin in the University Complutense of Madrid to study macrocyclic hosts for fullerenes. Since September 2011, David Canevet is associate professor in the MOLTECH-Anjou laboratory, where he leads research activities in the field of supramolecular chemistry. His main interests include supramolecular photo- and electroactive polymers and photo- and redox-switchable foldamers, a research line he initiated in Angers.

Prof. Piétrick Hudhomme

Full Professor (Professeur des Universités, HDR)

 Piétrick Hudhomme obtained a PhD from the University of Nantes in 1990 under the supervision of Pr. G. Duguay working on the total asymmetric synthesis of cephalosporin antibiotics. After a post-doctoral stay at the University of Sussex (UK) with Pr. D.W. Young developing the synthesis of antithrombotic drugs, he became Assistant Professor (Maître de Conférences) at the University of Nantes in 1991. His research interest moved progressively to the organic synthesis of molecular materials with the chemistry of tetrathiafulvalene and fullerene derivatives. He joined the University of Angers in 1998 as Full Professor in the laboratory of Pr. A. Gorgues. His current research interests concern the organic chemistry of perylenediimide and fullerene derivatives as acceptors for organic photovoltaics, the synthesis of donor-acceptor systems involving tetrathiafulvalene derivatives for molecular electronics and molecular clips for recognition of neutral guests in the field of supramolecular chemistry.

Dr. Antoine Goujon 

Associate Professor (Maître de Conférences)

Antoine Goujon obtained his PhD degree in Organic Chemistry in october 2016 under the supervision of Prof. Nicolas Giuseppone at the Université de Strasbourg, working on the macroscopic amplification of collective motions of molecular machines and motors. He then carried out a postdoctoral stay in the group of Prof. Stefan Matile at the Université de Genève (Switzerland) from 2017 to mid 2019 working on the design, synthesis and evaluation of mechanosensitive fluorescent probes to sense and vizualise membrane tension in living cells. He was appointed Maîte de Conférence (Associate Professor) in the laboratory MOLTECH-Anjou in september 2019. He works on new synthetic methodologies for the pi-extension of perylenediimides and their use in organic electronics devices and supramolecular assemblies.

Dr. Amina Benchohra

Postdoctoral Researcher

Amina studied chemistry at Sorbonne-Université. Then, she received her PhD in Feb 2019 for work on a new research project, between Pr Lescouezec (ERMMES) and Pr Kreher (Polymers), at the Institut Parisien de Chimie Moléculaire (IPCM). The aim of her research was to design new responsive hybrid (nano)materials, based on switchable molecular complexes. Subsequently she joined SOMAF team to work on interlocked Donor-Acceptor cages of general interest for solar cells, in the frame of a collaboration between Pr Skabara, Pr Sallé and Dr Goeb.

Dr. Clémence Nicolas

Postdoctoral Researcher

Clémence completed her PhD in polymer chemistry in 2019 at the IMMM (Le Mans Institute of Molecules and Materials).
She synthesized and polymerized new antioxidant-functionalized monomers by ring-opening metathesis polymerization for polymer material stabilization.She joined SOMaF group in january 2020 to work on polymer fonctionnalization for self-assembly.

After graduating in chemical engineering from the ENSCM in 2018, Simon worked for a year in AGFA GEVAERT in Belgium, before starting a PhD in the SOMAF group. His work focusses on metal-directed self-assembly of cages.

Soussana Azar

PhD Student

Soussana Azar is a PhD student in the University of Angers. She was born in Lebanon in 1997. She received her bachelor degree in general chemistry (2018) and her Master 1 degree (2019) from the Lebanese University. In 2020, she received the LUMOMAT Master degree from the University of Angers. She currently works on oligopyridine-dicarboxamide foldamers and particularly on their redox-controlledhybridization into multiple helices.
